Market Entry

Quite often companies have multiple offices in the region and even the globe. The desire to have a Japan office added to the portfolio comes with its own set of challenges. We have had experiences in helping foreign recruitment companies set up in the Japan market.

The biggest problem a lot of company’s face is the language barrier which puts most off plus then the fact that everything to set the company up is done in Japanese from registering with the Tax office to opening Bank accounts . We have the developed the connections and know how to help a company through this maze.

These are a lot of the questions and hurdles companies need to jump to get set up in Japan.

  • How do I get a recruitment license?
  • Company formation: do you establish a GK or KK, and what is the difference.
  • What if we have a foreign parent entity?
  • How long does this approximately take?
  • How and when do I get the incorporation certificate?
  • Who can be my Representative Director, do I need a Japanese national?
  • What about bank Accounts.
  • How much capital is required?
  • Do I need a physical office address, what are the requirements?
  • Tax, how do we register?

This is just the basics and we are happy to explain the process from start to finish giving you a detailed outline of the process, the time line and everything that is required from recruitment licenses to getting your Representative Director on Board.

Incubation

More and more, we see people setting up recruitment companies on their own in the Japan market.

There is a big step to go from being an employee with an established recruitment company to setting up on your own. Issues like dealing with the company setup, getting the license, database, processes, compensation systems etc. can make an already difficult job much harder. On top of this, there is generally a bit of a lead time before you actually see any money coming into a new company.

We can introduce you to people with experience in setting up successful recruitment companies who can mentor and help make the transition from employee to someone with skin in the game go more smoothly. Contact for a confidential chat about how we can introduce you to the right people.
